We went on a Sunday before Halloween Horror Nights (busy night).   We loved it!

Kudos #1) You can join the waitlist on their website or yelp page.  I tried it out while shuttling over from the hotel.  By the time we arrived, we walked right up to the host, said our name, and got seated.

Kudos #2). Their menu is reasonably priced and offers non-seafood options. They are also kid friendly.

Kudos #3)  The wait staff was very attentive and FUN!  They played trivia with us, and made us feel very welcome.

Kudos #4)  The food was actually pretty good.  They are a chain, but the food was tasty, timely, and freshly prepared.

A couple of tips.... you can pick up coupons for a free "appetizer of the day" at most tourist areas.  Our "app of the day" was artichoke dip.  Not too shabby!  Also, if you order a specialty drink or alcoholic drink, many of the glasses are included as a souvenir.  If you aren't told this, be sure to ask.  I hope your family has the same experience we did.

    Howdy y'all.

Like most places at the Universal - City Walk (we still call it Boardwalk) area, it's way over priced for what you get.  The food was mediocre at best and the place was not kept clean enough for the amount of people they serve.  I know it's hard with a bunch of tourists being filtered through, but, I have been to pretty much every place in that area and know it can be done.  Our table was sticky, the hot sauce had stuff stuck to the bottle and the floor was a mess.

We went in for lunch and didn't have to wait.  So, bonus...

Pros - The server was a good guy and had a good sense of humor.  We couldn't roll with the Forest Gump movie trivia thing, none of us saw it...  But, if that is your deal, then you will dig it...
The place is fun to see and look around in, so that was cool.

Cons - Food was bland and way over priced.  The cleanliness was not so good - for lunch even.

Bottom line, you can do much better if you want to leave that area, otherwise, don't set the bar very high and you will be OK.

I haven't found an alternative Cajun style places yet, when I do, I'll post up.

    Cheers y'all.

Pretty much what you would expect of a tourist attraction - overpriced food, mediocre taste. My family and I were looking forward to a seafood dinner but the options were not great, most of the dishes are fried and come with a side of fries. I understand it's preference but a plate of brown is never appealing to me. I got the sampler appetizer and everything on the plate was awful except for the tortilla chips. My mom got the coconut shrimp and loved it. If you've never been to a Bubba Gump I'd recommend it for the experience, otherwise I'd say explore other options.

The wait to be seated wasn't too bad on a Thursday night, but the wait for our food was over an hour.

After a long day at Islands of Adventure me and my boyfriend decided to eat at Bubba Gump since it is located in City Walk too. This place is simply iconic and if you've seen Forrest Gump you're gonna love it.

This place was PACKED! we had to wait around 30 minutes to get a table but walking around City Walk made the time go fast.

Our server was the absolute best. She made our experience very entertaining too. They even have a mini trivia where they ask question from the movie and it's so funny.

She recommend us some of the best drinks and we tried them all. All the drinks come with a souvenir cup so we ended up taking 4 cups home.

I ordered the Dockside Fry which came with Flounder Filet, choice of two shrimp, fries, coleslaw and dipping sauces. The sauces were the best ever and the food was really good.

My bf ordered the Jambalaya which has blackened Chicken, Shrimp and Andouille Sausage, sauteed with Bell Pepper, Onions, and Rice in Spicy Sauce.

The food is good but way too expensive for the amount of food they serve. I guess location, and the fact the place is iconic makes it expensive, but it was even more expensive than Hard Rock Cafe.

We really enjoyed eating here. The shrimp was great. Hospitality was great. I loved the bacon wrap shrimp. The only thing is it's very overpriced for what you get. We shared an app and an entree though which was really all we needed. We would visit again though, as the food was good and it's not bad if you share with someone.
The atmosphere was great. The store next door was awesome too. Super cute shirts and memorabilia.
